Where the containers come in
The Port of Baltimore's container terminal is Seagirt Marine Terminal, run under a public–private partnership with the Maryland Port Administration. When the sailing options into Baltimore are thin, the same markets are served from Norfolk through the Virginia Inland Port at Front Royal, which the Port of Virginia runs for the Washington, DC, Baltimore and Maryland markets, or by truck from the Port of New York and New Jersey.
- Seagirt Marine Terminal
- Baltimore/Washington International Airport (BWI) for air freight

After the gate: Maryland, DC and Pennsylvania
Drayage from Seagirt is arranged through contracted motor carriers, with chassis from pools or the trucker and charged by the day. Containers for Washington, DC, northern Virginia and central Pennsylvania are trucked from Baltimore, or from Front Royal when the container came in through Norfolk. Airlift arranges the move as a broker; it owns no trucks or warehouses in Maryland.
Airlift USA has been in business since 1999 and is an FMC-licensed NVOCC (FMC No. 016162), not a customs broker: the customs entry is filed through its licensed customs-broker network, and US trucking is arranged as a non-asset, FMCSA-licensed property broker through contracted motor carriers.
