Bengaluru is inland, so its export containers reach the sea by road or rail. To the east are the Chennai ports: Chennai Port, Kattupalli and Kamarajar Port at Ennore. To the west is New Mangalore on the Karnataka coast. For customs clearance closer to the factory, CONCOR runs an inland container depot at Whitefield, from where containers go to the port by rail. Air freight flies from Kempegowda International Airport (BLR), north of the city.
