What is Ex Works?

EXW is an Incoterm that places minimum obligation on the seller, who only needs to make goods available at their premises. The buyer assumes all costs and risks from pickup to final destination.

Important: While EXW offers the lowest cost to the seller, it places the maximum burden on the buyer, who must handle all export formalities. Many buyers unfamiliar with the export process in the seller's country find DAP or DDP terms simpler, even at a higher cost.
